Ndewo! (Welcome!) My name is Okenna. I’m a Nigerian-American UX Designer, visual storyteller, and a professional make-believer based in
Los Angeles, CA.

As a UX Designer, finding new and impactful ways to educate and empower users is key. Assisting users to be the best they can be in their respective journeys is the main motivation for myself.

With experience in human-centric design partnered with my experience in photography and cinematography, it truly gives me a special definition of what design is. Design is a new solution to a business problem, a new medical technology to improve lives, a form of self-expression and everything in-between.

Design is truly worth a thousand words or in this case, a thousand emotions. It is not just making something, but making a difference. Let’s make a difference.

My Process

Understand. Design. Validate. Iterate.

An ever-changing process that is always shifting and improving as needed.
1. Understand
A designer's superpower

All of my work is rooted in sound and holistic research that helps me understand the users, but also the whole. It's important to understand and bridge the gaps between people, systems, and experiences.

3. Validate
Are we moving in the right direction?

User testing and evaluative research are key steps I take to ensure that what's designed adequately covers the bases and quick changes can be made for minimizing risks and increasing efficiency.

2. Design
Time to reallyyy dive in

When we understand user problems and business needs, there's always that itch to design a solid and fitting solution. In my process, though, I don't limit myself to just interfaces. I've expanded my scope to include designing a myriad of experiences outside of technology - like processes.

4. Iterate
Are we moving in the right direction?

Establishing the right metrics to collect quality data is important to understand the performance of a solution and how we can continue to improve. Not only with users but ensuring all the necessary goals are met, too.
